How Professional Year in Brisbane proves beneficial for the graduates?

Australia has no shortage of great universities. The quality of education and the faculties here attract students from across the globe. Overseas students enjoy high career prospects as more than 22,000 courses are on offer at the Australian universities.

Many renown student cities are available with suitable infrastructure, facilities, and opportunities for international students. Brisbane is one of the most beautiful cities in Australia. Over the years, the city has achieved immense growth making an attractive destination for students.

Besides that, the Australian government has initiated initiatives to attract international graduates to work and live in Australia after completion of studies. Professional year Brisbane is one such initiative for overseas graduates who studied accounting, engineering, and IT courses at Australian universities for not less than two years. It is a 44-week program to help fresh graduates get a smooth transition from the college to the workplace.

Australia is a highly competitive market. The job is abundant for professionals with right skill sets and qualification. Though the fresh graduates get a qualification, yet they lack expertise and real work experience. The PY helps the students complement and enhance what they learned in the classroom with work experience during the internship training.

The Professional Year in IT is another initiative to act as a bridge for students to start their career in Australia. The program is developed by ACS to give the ICT graduates with the aim of improving necessary skills for their professional life.

The PY in IT program is available in all the major cities of Australia. The eligibility of the program needs to be checked by the students before applying, and it is as follows –

  • The graduation must get done from an Australian university with a minimum duration of 2 years.
  • The student should be having or applied for a temporary graduate visa with a validity of 12 months.
  • A valid skill assessment from ACS (if applicable)
  • An overall score of 6 in IELTS and a minimum score of at least 5 in each band.

If you satisfy the above criteria, you can apply for the professional year program.
